Mek aka Captain Salsa recently visited Wakefield and gave two intensive workshops and private lessons to the SalsaUnity group and people loved his passion and individual teaching style that left us crying out to learn more from this master, so of course we had to get him back to teach more in October for the YORKSHIRE SALSA CONGRESS and share him with all our lovely people that come to Yorkshire.
He is now family to us in Yorkshire and we will be getting him back as often as we can and when he is available Of course.
Very excited also to see him perform on our Saturday evening line up.
Mek started dancing at the age of 16. His technique is varied but based on a sporty ballroom dancer with theatre, salsa and many other techniques he has used and learned over the last 27 years.
From 2000 Mek concentrated on Salsa and teaching his very personal flowing style which makes him very unique to other teachers out there.
His most important medal achievements are as follows:
1. 2006 Vice World Championship in Salsa in Turin
2. 2005 Polish Champion in Salsa and Rueda de Casino
3. 2004 II Polish Vice Champion in Professional Ballroom Dance
4. 2000 Grand Prix Canada in Ballroom Dance.
5. In the 90's, He was the Polish finalist in ballroom dancing.
