TOMAS GUERRERO

TOMAS GUERRERO

We are extremely excited to announce that we will have one of the BEST Teachers in the industry Mr Tomas Guerrero flying in from the U.S.A.

Tomas born and raised in New York City, started dancing socially back in the early 90's while going several Latin Nightclubs. Tomas never took classes to learn to dance. He learned watching others dance Salsa while frequenting the NY night life. Tomas fell in love with the music and the dance. In 1995 he was recruited to dance for a team being formed at the time, which later dubbed the name "Santo Rico Dance Co" to learn the group's first choreography. Straight from social dancing Tomas burst onto the world of performing. Through hard work and dedication he became one of Santo Rico's main dancers, and eventually its director and choreographer.

Over the last two decades, under the direction of Tomas Guerrero, Santo Rico Dance Company became one of New York's premier and longest standing dance companies. They have been recognized as one of the most influential Salsa/Mambo dance schools in the world, serving as an inspiration and training platform to New York's most well-known dancers, performers, instructors, directors and dance companies overall.

Tomas and Santo Rico have travelled to 45 countries, spanning 6 continents and over 40 US cities to teach and perform their unique style of dancing. Santo Rico has performed at world-acclaimed events and venues, such as Madison Square Garden, most World Salsa Congresses, and alongside music-recording super stars such as, Tito Puente, Marc Anthony, Gilberto Santa Rosa, and Oscar Deleon, to name a few. Santo Rico was also featured in its own HBO documentary, "El Espiritu de la Salsa."
